What we’re loving ~ and wearing ~ for Summer 21/22!

The new season might seem overwhelming for many of you, particularly those who have been in lockdown for a significant part of 2021 (let’s not talk about 2020!) Many of our clients have ‘lost their way’ with their style and wardrobe – so if this is you, you’re not alone.

In this post, I thought we’d share our fave finds that we’re loving for our clients as well as some tops picks from the team. We know that many of you find inspiration via our Instagram accounts (and we love that!) and trust our suggestions because after all, we shop for a living and have the inside intel on what’s what.

Anne’s Fave Client Finds…

Most of our clients don’t want to expose too much skin in summer and are looking for something with a little room to breathe, and enjoy their Christmas lunch. They’re loving dresses like this linen striped shirt dress from Sussan is a great option for so many body shapes.

The shorter, slightly puffed sleeve and curved hemline give it a nice, feminine feel. The length is perfect for those who prefer to cover their upper legs and the linen is soft and lightweight for the warmer months ahead.

The organically grown French linen wide leg pant from Country Road has been another hit with clients who love to wear something more fitted up top, but cover their legs. The pants come in quite a few colours but the green has been the favourite!

For me summer dressing is all about comfort and having my 2 kids at home, it’s important I can get dressed quickly but in style! I love a good oversized men’s shirt, and the striped cotton shirts by Blanca inspired by men’s tailoring are my summer go-to. With the matching shorts, that’s summer dressing done for me.

I also can’t get enough of chunky sandals and these braided chunks slides from Aje are my latest purchase. I’ll be wearing them with my shirting co-ords, summer dresses, jeans… everything!

Loré’s Fave Client Finds…

My favourite client pick for the season has been the Dharma blazer from Saba in beautiful white. Clients love the lightweight fabric and the versatility to wear from the working day to the weekend. The longer line and the contrasting buttons and stitching make it a contemporary  summer blazer.

I am really trying to support locally made brands and I’ve recently discovered the Melbourne designed and made label Flatiron. My picks for summer are the Ciel Shirt in this gorgeous blue stripe and the Waratah Shirt in white.

Linen has been a European summer staple for years and it’s great to see so many local labels finally getting on the linen bandwagon.

Sally’s Fave Client Finds…

Summer dresses are always one of client’s top requests when they shop, and this season they’re loving the simplicity of a shirt dress – but with a twist. The chambray dress from Skin and Threads and the animal print style from Marcs are both casual and sporty. They’re the perfect dress to throw on with sneakers and a sunhat to spend time at the park with the kids or a day out in the city doing your Christmas shopping (and a sneaky wine afterwards) The length is also great for petites who are feeling ‘overwhelmed’ with the current array of maxi dresses.

For Summer festivities such as end of year work drinks, Christmas celebrations and school formals, the Kelsey midi dress from Portmans has been a real fave. The style allows itself to be dressed up for a classy occasion but also can be teamed with a black blazer and pumps for work, or a pair of fresh white sneakers and a casual cross body bag for the weekend!

What Sally will be wearing this summer…

I am currently obsessed with all things linen! Particularly linen sets. I’m all about the matchy-matchy at the moment. As I enjoy some down time over January, I’ll be living in a combination of relaxed linen shirts, shorts and trousers from Witchery.

I’ve bought the oversized organic linen shirt in both flax and navy and the matching waist detail shorts. I’ve also bought the trousers in the same colours for lots of mix and matching options.

Over summer I also plan to add these Witchery racer rib tanks into the mix, be it on their own with my denim or with the above shorts and pants. I’m also loving the idea of wearing the tanks under the linen shirts for a sensible cover up!
